The last thing we heard from Samsung was that they were reviewing when they would actually launch the device, and now Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S III will not launch at MWC 2012.
Samsung told Tech Radar that the Galaxy S III will launch at a separate event later in the year, and this event will be some time in the first half of 2012, so that means some time between now and the end of June, you can see the Samsung statement below.
“Samsung is looking forward to introducing and demonstrating exciting new mobile products at Mobile World Congress 2012.
“The successor to the Galaxy S2 smartphone will be unveiled at a separate Samsung-hosted event in the first half of the year, closer to commercial availability of the product.”
So obviously Samsung is looking to launch the Samsung Galaxy S III closer to the devices actual release date, which would mean that it should land some time in June at the latest.
This should allow Samsung to release the Galaxy S III at the same time globally, which would avoid the situation they had with the launch of the Galaxy S II last year, as the device was available in Europe a couple of months before it launched in the US.
