Ultrabooks were popular at this years CES, although most of the models we have seem so far are higher priced around the $1,000 and above mark, Intel has been looking to get the price of these new notebooks down.
One company that intends to launch a range of more budget friendly ultrabooks this year isAcer, and the company has announced that will be introducing new ultrabooks in the $699 to $799 price range.
Although these new ultrabooks will be cheaper, Acer are looking to concentrate less on price and more on the actual user experience of the device, as the company’s president said that the high end and low end markets are dominated by Apple and Amazon at the moment.
Acer has said that they will be focusing on mid range devices, which offer a wide range of features for a lower price, and if Acer do manage to produce decent ultrabooks in this price range then other manufacturers are bound to follow, this will reduce the price of ultrabooks overall, which would be good news for consumers.
