Apple’s new Store at the Grand Central Station, New York, will be opening this Friday, December 9th at 10AM according to a new page put up on Apple.com.
The Station is known to be one of the world’s busiest transit hubs, so Apple might receive a lot of passers-by walking into the store. Back in July, Apple and the MTA agreed on a 10 year deal that will allow a 23,000 square foot Apple Store to be set up right in place of Charlie Palmer’s Metrazur restaurant, with rent set at $800,000 per year (which will be $1 million per year after ten years go by). That’s $500,000 more than the rent the restaurant was paying and Apple’s responsible for refurbishing the space. We’ve seen concepts of what the store might look like, and they looked pretty darn sweet, complimenting the style of the building.
Any of our readers passing by there this Friday? Take a couple pics and send them over, eh?
