FormZTE Tania - 128.6x67.8x10.7mm,158g
Nokia Lumia 800 - 116.5x61.2x12.1mm,142g
Nokia wasn't content to follow the crowd when it entered the Windows Phone market and drew inspiration from its own distinctive design style.
The Lumia 800 bears more than a passing resemblance to the MeeGo-powered N9, which means a strikingly angular shape with clean edges topped off by a curved but chiselled slab of glass.
As well as a standard black there's also a choice of bright cyan or magenta to contrast with the ClearBlack display.
The other thing you notice about the Nokia 800 is how well made it feels in the hand. It's a very solid device and uses a polycarbonate plastic unibody which you could be fooled into thinking was metal.
The ZTE Tania is a bit more conventional, it still has the recognisable ‘candy bar' shape with curved ends and corners, but it's been proportioned in such a way that this works very well. It looks interesting and elegant.
As nice as the Tania is we have to go with Nokia's much more adventurous design style.

DisplayZTE's Tania uses a 4.3-inch TFT multi-touch capacitive screen with an 800x480 pixel resolution, giving a pixel density of 217 pixels-per-inch (ppi).
Nokia has really pushed the boat out for its Lumia range of smartphones thanks to the use of its ClearBlack display technology which really makes the Windows Phone interface pop.
We've pretty much concluded that you haven't seen Windows Phone 7 the way it's supposed to look until you've seen it on a Nokia Lumia handset.
To top it off the Nokia 800 has an even better display because it uses Samsung's AMOLED technology, which makes it brighter and more battery friendly with better colours than your average screen.
Size wise it's a bit smaller than ZTE's offering at 3.7-inches but with the same resolution it manages a better pixel density of 252ppi. The Lumia 800 supports multi-touch and the screen is made from Corning Gorilla Glass for extra durability.
The Lumia 800's display is one of the best on any Windows Phone device we've seen and the Tania, although quite good, hasn't managed to dethrone it.

StorageNokia's flagship handset boasts an ample 16GB of onboard storage alongside 512MB of RAM. ZTE's phone comes in much lower with only 4GB of storage, which exceptionally low, but sports the same RAM as its opponent.
Being Windows phones neither has any card capability for memory expansion, which isn't such an issue for the Nokia but slightly more of a problem with the Tania because it means you're pretty much stuck with the 4GB of internal space.
