Mobilicity decided to release the Galaxy Nexus today

Not surprising at all. Last week Mobilicity proudly stated that they’ll be releasing the Galaxy Nexus on Monday, February 6th. However, since hearing the news that rival carrier WIND Mobile will be beating them and launching the OS 4.0 powered device on the Feb. 3rd, Mobilicity has decided to make the Galaxy Nexus available today. The price point is $599.99 and they are also throwing in a free Samsung HM1100 Bluetooth headset. This has not yet appeared on their site and in the press release it stated the Galaxy Nexus will only be available at “select Mobilicity stores across Canada”. We’ve reached out to Mobi for the complete list of locations.

PRESS RELEASE
Mobilicity starts selling Galaxy Nexus ahead of schedule

Toronto, ON – February 2, 2012 – It may be Groundhog Day, but it’s the sleek shadow of the Galaxy Nexus™ by Samsung that will be casting attention at Mobilicity stores across Canada starting today.
The news that the fast-growing unlimited carrier is selling the acclaimed smartphone, powered by Android™ 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), ahead of its original launch date – and with a free Samsung HM1100 Bluetooth headset – also coincides with the two-year anniversary of unveiling the Mobilicity brand.
Mobilicity today also announced its upcoming Mobile Kiss Cam contest, featuring the Galaxy Nexus for Valentine’s Day. The Facebook-based contest, running February 6-17, will invite couples to submit a video clip of their best kiss for the chance to win a Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Mini, each with six months of Mobilicity’s unlimited talk, text and data service (prize valued at over $1,400).
The Galaxy Nexus, developed by Samsung and Google, features a 4.65" HD Super AMOLED display technology (720p resolution), a speedy 1.2GHz dual core processor, and the ability to use facial recognition to unlock the device. Using Google’s NFC-based Android Beam technology, users can easily share web pages, apps, and YouTube™ videos with a quick tap of their devices.
Designed to deliver a "pure Google" experience, the Galaxy Nexus also comes complete with popular Google Mobile services, such as Android Market, Gmail™, Google Maps™ 5.0, Google Earth™, and Google+. It will also automatically send software upgrades and new applications as they become available.
